Meet Kieran Smith
Kieran is a professional swimmer, currently training in Gainesville, Florida. Kieran's swimming accomplishments include an Olympic bronze medal from the Tokyo Games, a member of two world record holding relays, 2021 and 2022 NCAA champion, and American record holder in the 500 yard freestyle and 400 short course meter freestyle. Collegiately, Kieran competed with the University of Florida, and helped secure four consecutive SEC team titles during his time with the Gators.
Kieran was born in Australia, and grew up in Ridgefield, CT, with his parents, Patrick and Sandra, and older brother Grayson. He graduated from Ridgefield high school in 2018, with a successful swimming career, and the opportunity to have been section leader and principal cellist in his school orchestra. He has been loyal to his home club, Ridgefield Aquatic Club, since 2006, and hopes to continue giving back to his community as he pursues his swimming career and beyond.
Kieran enjoys speaking with teenage athletes looking to improve their strength and conditioning to supplement training, and thrives on his ability to channel confidence and the mental aspect of racing.
